Title: A Perfect Weekend for Broke Teens in Los Angeles
Category: Outdoor Author: Jean

My Perfect Weekend...

As a bunch of students on vacation in LA, we've got very little cash; so my schoolmates and I looked for a way to explore Los Angeles for a weekend without breaking the bank. Here's what we came up with:

First Stop: Griffith Park.

Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country. The park features bridle and hiking trails, pony and train rides, golf courses and Travel Town. We totally enjoyed hiking along the park's trails and riding ponies.
We had lunch at Cafe Tropical where they serve tasty sandwiches for $6 and less.

Next stop: Marina Del Rey Beach

Marina Del Rey is known as LA's own Riviera. It is the world's largest mad-made small-craft harbor in the world and can house 6,000 in-the-water private yachts.
At Burton Chace Park, the experience was as if we were actually on the water boating. So many boats passed right in front of us. We then hung-out at the harbor and just enjoyed the views and watch the joggers, roller-skaters, bicyclists, and more. Then we just watched the sun set in the area.
Enzo's Pizzeria is a bit more costly than Cafe Tropical. Their specials cost $11.

Day 2

First Stop: LA's Beaches
A visit to LA is not complete without visiting its world famous beaches. LA has 75 miles of coastline. We enjoyed swimming, hanging on the beach and learning how to surf. LA is home to some really good surfers. You can find them all at Surfrider Beach.

Howdys Taqueria Malibu serves flavorful Tex-Mex cuisine. Their burritos are very good. The food is affordable costing around $11.

Next stop: NoHo Arts District

NoHo is performing and fine arts heaven. It's an artists' community which houses several galleries, public art, live theaters, boutiques, vintage clothing stores, ethnic restaurants and outdoor cafes. We really enjoyed checking out the very cool and interesting artworks by local artists. We also had fun watching actors rehearse their lines with each other.
We had dinner at the Leaf Cuisine. The food there is delicious and affordable. We were able to spend less than $11 per meal.
